Trying to embody the grace and expression from dance in a still sculpture was a wonderful study.

Meditation on the Face of Christ

I chose to do this project as an artistic meditation on the face of Christ. I had been journeying through St. Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises. The contemplative parts of these exercises are somewhat visual. But, I've always had difficulty letting faces be present, in a sense. The reference I decided to use was a picture of a random guy off the internet for neck/head proportions then I tried to go with the flow from there.

A nice lawn piece. The rivets that hold together the pieces on the abdomen are close to where their spiracles would be.
